Privacy Policy

In short WebTypographer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All your preferences are saved exclusively on your own device and never leave it — except when you choose to load a Google Font (see below).

Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the WebTypographer Chrome extension (also published as Change Webpage Fonts and Size from Any Page), developed by Globosoft S.r.l. The extension is available on the Chrome Web Store.

What data do we collect?

None. WebTypographer does not collect, process, or transmit:

Personal information of any kind
Browsing history or visited URLs
Content of any webpage you visit
Usage statistics or analytics
Any other identifiable or non-identifiable data

All typography preferences you configure (font family, size, colours, spacing, etc.) are stored locally on your device using Chrome's standard chrome.storage.local API and are never sent anywhere.

Permissions used and why

Permission	Why it is needed
`storage`	Saves your typography preferences locally on your device so they persist between browser sessions.
`sidePanel`	Opens the extension's control panel as a sidebar, keeping the webpage fully visible while you make adjustments.
`tabs` / `activeTab`	Reads the current tab's hostname to load the correct per-site settings, and sends live CSS updates to the page when you change a setting.
`<all_urls>`	Injects a small `<style>` tag on any webpage you choose to customise. No page content is ever read or collected.

Third-party services

Google Fonts (optional)
When you select a Google Font (such as Roboto, Inter, or Merriweather) from the font list, the extension loads that font directly from fonts.googleapis.com. This request is made by your browser to Google's servers, and Google's own Privacy Policy applies to it.

This only occurs if you explicitly choose a Google Font. If you use a system font (Arial, Georgia, etc.) or no font change at all, no request is made to Google. You can also paste a custom font URL from any source you trust.

No other third-party services, APIs, analytics tools, or tracking scripts are used by this extension.

Data stored locally

The following information is stored on your device only, using Chrome's local storage:

Typography preferences per website (font, size scale, weight, colour, spacing, line height)
Global typography preferences (if configured)
Your preferred interface language for the extension

This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing Chrome's extension storage.

Children's privacy

This extension does not target children and does not knowingly collect any information from users under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be published at this URL with an updated date. Given the nature of this extension (no data collection), significant changes are unlikely.
